I feel both honoured and proud to be part of this compilation of music that represents Manchester music in all its myriad forms. In 1993 I moved from Brick Lane, East London to Manchester. For me, Manchester and the people that inhabit our amazing city know who they are and what they’re about. We are open-hearted, curious to explore, adapt, transform and give back to the world something completely fresh, bold and undeniably strong. In the face of adversity Manchester will never be held back. It will always stand up, dust down and move relentlessly forward. Manchester isn’t just a city with people, its both an attitude and way of being. I love Manchester.
